We would like to end this year where it started. Filip & Andreas spent january 2009 in Kirkenes, Norway shooting this documentary about Röyksopp and their new album “Junior”.  See you all 2010.  Happy New Year // Folke

Johan Tapperts New spot for Rapala (the Ferrari among lures) is already a myth. The lead actor (Simon Berger) was about to throw the lure out of the prison window when he got the hook from the lure in his finger. Jack, experienced fisherman and creative from the ageny Pocket Hercules, saved Simons finger just to get the hook from the lure in his own. It actually went the hole way thru. Jack got the strongest pills swedish medical service could offer, the hook was removed and the rest of the shooting day, and Jacks finger, was saved. Thanks Jack! We hope your finger’s doing ok.

Johan Tappert has directed postens (Swedish Postal Services) Christmas film. Our main character is played by Gothenburg’s shooting star Hampus Mattson. Åkestam&Holst is the agency. The copywriter Calle and art director Olle are Folke Films new friends, we’re still not sure who’s who… Merry Christmas!

10 international directors where commisioned by the agency Heimat to make a documentary portrait on the theme “motivation”.

The final result was the 45 minute long film “Drang”. The project was financed by Volksbank Raiffeisen.

Folke Film has now signed up for dancing lessons during spring 2010 and are looking into the possibility of founding Folke in Windhagen.

Andreas Nilsson just shot a new Nike spot in Las Vegas.

DAY ONE

I’m on an airplane listening to a track created by two guys from Portland called Mike and Brandon. It’s about a shoe and a magical lifestyle that the shoe brings. It tells me to hyperize, not criticise. The song sounds like a 90´s rap interpretation by Cheech & Chong. Its stupidly clever, layered with 1000 years of wisdom and I love it.

The plan is to do a viral music video with the band The Hyperizers for Nike and Footlocker. Listening to the tune it feels like they want to bring some humour back into the brand. The band consists of 4 NBA stars who at this point don’t know about the rap group or the project themselves. At the end of the shoot our goal is to have a TV two and a half minute promo pastiche and four 30 second spots.

I arrive in LA and go to meet up with the people at Streetgang and Furlined. They all look like they have taken splendid care of themselves since the last time we met. George Meeker looks like he’s just walked up from the Malibu shore as the sixth missing beach boy, Di McArter looks regal as always and both of Jason Botkin´s legs are 100 per cent functional again after his skiing accident in Val d´isère in May. We celebrate that with a cup of tea.

Andreas Nilsson continues his collaboration with Fever Ray. The new video, to be released after summer, was filmed during a dark night before Swedish midsummer celebration.
